A robbery in Culver City turned violent this past Saturday when a victim was shot in the leg during a confrontation with two male suspects. CBS News Los Angeles reports the incident occurred around 3:40 A.M. on the 5900 block of Wrightcrest Drive. According to the Culver City Police Department, the victim was parked in his car when he was approached and robbed by the suspects.
The suspects, who have been described as two black men, aged between 18 to 25 years old and around 5'9" to 5'10" in height, opened the car doors and demanded the victim's bag. "One of the two suspects opened fire, striking the victim in the leg," stated the CBS News Los Angeles report. The second suspect seized the bag, after which, both fled the scene believed by authorities to be in a black four-door sedan.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was administered medical care before being sent to the hospital for further treatment. The Culver City Police Department has since issued a press release confirming these details and extending a call for any information on the case. Chief of Police Jason Sims corroborated the early morning chain of events and the suspects' escape in a black sedan.
