In the Mississippi city of Southaven, two Waste Pro employees, Calvin Williams and Tony Henry, have been heralded as heroes after a life-saving intervention. While carrying out their duties on a routine waste collection route, they discovered resident Bob Miller bleeding profusely from his head in his driveway, having suffered a fall. According to Action News 5, the pair immediately called 911 and employed quick first-aid measures to manage the bleeding until the arrival of emergency medical services.
As reported by FOX13 Memphis, the incident occurred when Miller was taking out the trash before Williams and Henry, seeing him on the ground, acted to provide critical assistance. Using simple napkins to put pressure on the wound, they demonstrated swift thinking which was crucial at the moment at Miller's driveway.
Bob Miller's wife expressed deep gratitude towards the two Waste Pro employees for their rapid response which, she believes, saved her husband's life. Following the incident, she made a personal visit to the Waste Pro office in Southaven to ensure that the commendable actions of Williams and Henry were recognized.
"I feel blessed to have Calvin and Henry as part of our Southaven Division. Jumping into action and utilizing safety training changed the outcome of the holiday season for the Miller family," declared Jon Snyder, Waste Pro Division Vice President, in a sentiment that was echoed in WREG's coverage of the story. The Waste Pro Angels, as Bob Miller's wife, fondly refers to them, showcased that amidst the routine, there are extraordinary capacities for everyday heroes to emerge.
