In an effort to spread festive cheer and a serious message, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) and their mascot Deputy Do Right participated in two local Christmas parades. Onlookers were treated to a display of decorated law enforcement vehicles and were encouraged to celebrate the holidays responsibly.
The YCSO's recent news release reported that the festivities commenced with Chino Valley's first Light Parade last Friday. Deputy Do Right led, followed by YCSO vehicles adorned with holiday decorations. Attended by hundreds, the parade aimed to bring the community together. Despite the cold evening, the warmth of the local residents' response melted away the chills.
The following day, Saturday, saw the procession move to Prescott for its daytime Christmas Parade. According to the official YCSO page, Deputy Do Right spearheaded the parade again, this time in front of thousands. The lineup included a SWAT Bearcat, a "ghost" patrol car, the DUI enforcement truck, and even Search and Rescue personnel with their K9s.
In both parades, YCSO took the opportunity to remind parade-goers of the importance of having a designated driver or arranging a ride during holiday celebrations. Amidst the fanfare, the message of safety was well-received, with many expressing their support for the responsible holiday initiative.
