
A 22-year-old man is now facing charges related to an armed robbery at a Pet Supplies Plus store in Bay City after a confrontation with store staff led to the display of what appeared to be a pistol. According to ABC12, the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. this past Saturday.
Bay City Department of Public Safety quickly responded to the scene following reports of the suspect attempting to steal merchandise. It is alleged that the confrontation escalated when the suspect pulled out a gun as he was trying to leave. "Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle that he fled in to officers," as reported by the Bay City Department of Public Safety in a social media post. The officers were able to swiftly locate the individual, along with a replica air pistol and stolen items inside his vehicle.
The suspect was apprehended, and the items in question were identified as stolen property from the Pet Supplies Plus store. A subsequent investigation led to the recovery of a replica air pistol, which was confirmed to closely resemble an actual firearm. The 22-year-old, who has not been named, was then transported to Bay County Jail.
