A crash in Stockton has led to the death of an 86-year-old man. Authorities suspect that the incident was the outcome of a suspected drunken driving incident. According to CBS News, the crash occurred just after 2 a.m. on Sunday when a 2012 Toyota Camry, driven by a 29-year-old, struck a 2003 Honda Civic on Interstate 5.
The collision, just north of Turner Road, caused the Civic driven by the elderly Stockton resident to overturn down the embankment. Traveling at a high speed, the Camry rear-ended the Honda, and after being hit, came to rest in the #2 lane and on the west shoulder, as reported by FOX40. The vehicle overturned, and the elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camry was arrested after being suspected of felony DUI by authorities at the scene. Despite the quick arrival of first responders, they were unable to save the elderly man.
