Boulder County Invites Public to Explore New Affordable Housing at Willoughby Corner Open House in LafayetteSource: Boulder County

Boulder County is throwing open the doors to its latest affordable housing development, Willoughby Corner, with a public open house slated for January 16, offering a first-hand look for those seeking affordable accommodations. In a region where the cost of living continues to spiral, Willoughby Corner emerges as a beacon for households earning up to 60 percent of the Area's Median Income. Interested parties can expect tours of the available homes, steps to submit rental applications on-site, and even a chance to win prizes through a raffle event.

Positioned near the heart of Old Town Lafayette, Willoughby Corner stresses availability for the economically burdened without sacrificing the pleasures of a premium location. With the door open to households bringing in roughly $70,000 for a two-person unit, or $88,000 for a family of four, the development boasts both amenity and access. A range of 1 and 2-bedroom homes are up for grabs, giving a glimpse of hope to those usually edged out by Boulder's high rental prices, according to Boulder County.

Valerie Edmonds, Property Manager Supervisor for the Boulder County Housing Authority, encourages interested parties to attend the open house. "Willoughby Corner has excellent amenities, is in a beautiful location not far from Old Town Lafayette, and is close to great schools," Edmonds said, as per Boulder County. She further added that newcomers have been trickling in over recent months, and the development is eager to welcome more residents to its fold.

Anyone with doubts about their eligibility is still encouraged to attend the open house. Set for the afternoon of January 16 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., interested attendees should head to the intersection of 120th and Emma Streets, where Willoughby Corner nestles southwest. Edmonds states, "We invite anyone who needs an affordable rental to join us at the open house, even if they're not sure whether they qualify," as noted by Boulder County. Parking will be available near the Willoughby Corner community building, with visitors advised to use the construction entrance off Emma Street and keep an eye out for signage directing them to the event.
