The Casa Grande community is buzzing as the local disc golf course undergoes a major upgrade, featuring concrete tee boxes and brand-new signage. But this isn’t just a routine renovation—it’s a heartfelt tribute to Frank Pratt, a prominent local entrepreneur and public servant. Formerly known as College Park, the newly renamed Frank Pratt Park honors a man who dedicated his life to improving the city and its community, as per the City of Casa Grande.
The city government's decision to pour $25,000 into this project was clearly aiming to not only spruce up the joint but possibly to turn it into a regional hit for disc golf enthusiasts. According to a statement from the City of Casa Grande, "These upgrades aim to provide a more enjoyable and challenging experience for disc golf enthusiasts of all skill levels, positioning Casa Grande as a hub for this growing sport."
Disc golf, a cost-effective and inclusive sport, is gaining popularity as a fun alternative to traditional golf. Played with flying discs instead of balls and clubs, it offers physical and mental health benefits, such as aerobic exercise and improved focus. With an estimated 8 to 12 million Americans having tried the sport, over half a million are now regular players.
On January 28, join the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Frank Pratt Park at 10 a.m., featuring disc-throwing demonstrations, as detailed by the City of Casa Grande.
