Chandler residents looking to engage more deeply with their community have a prime opportunity as the Good Neighbor 101 program gears up to kick off next month, as reported by the City of Chandler's official news release. Starting February 5, the month-long series of educational sessions returns, offered by the city’s Neighborhood Programs Office, the free program underscores various city services, and residents will get insights into essential resources and tools relevant to their neighborhoods.
The free program includes a lineup of four 90-minute sessions, each Wednesday in February, featuring presentations from different city departments, the curriculum refreshes annually to include topics most pertinent to Chandler's citizens, and for the first time, the City Manager's Office and City Clerk's Office will be participating providing overviews of their operation, programs such as Code Enforcement and Graffiti Elimination, and Boards and Commissions among other aspects of city governance.
Those who mark their calendars will be looking forward to the following: the first class on Neighborhood Programs on February 5; the second, focusing on Code Enforcement and Graffiti Elimination Programs on Feb. 12; the third session, hosted by the City Manager's Office on February 19; and lastly, the City Clerk's Office will round out the series on February 26, covering Boards and Commissions, Passport Services, Council Meetings, and more.
Held at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, located at 249 E. Chicago St., the sessions are scheduled from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and residents keen on attending are encouraged to RSVP online at Good Neighbor 101, or they can reach out to the Neighborhood Programs staff via phone at 480-782-4362 to confirm their attendance, if they complete all four sessions they'll even stand to win $500 for their neighborhood's next G.A.I.N. event, which is a great incentive to get involved and stay informed about the inner workings of local government.
