
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a homicide that occurred last night on the 2500 block of Catalina Avenue, leaving one person dead. The police was called to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon were received, according to information released by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Upon their arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a life-threatening injury, later pronounced deceased at the scene by MEDIC. Detective Smereka, who has taken the lead on this investigation, was met with a scene where Crime Scene Search was also present, diligently working to process the area and amass physical evidence.
