Charlotte residents can expect a mix of weather this week, ranging from foggy mornings to sunny skies, before transitioning to rain as the weekend approaches. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Charlotte, N.C., has released detailed forecasts for the coming days. This morning's patchy fog is expected to clear, giving way to full sunshine with highs reaching around 57 degrees. According to the NWS, winds from the west-southwest will range between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph.
Tonight, the sky is set to remain clear, giving residents a break from precipitation with lows expected to hover around 36 degrees. The wind, persisting from the west southwest, will continue to blow gently at 6 to 8 mph. Meanwhile, Wednesday is projected to not only maintain its sunny stance but also to warm up significantly, with the mercury possibly rising to almost hit a temperate 65 degrees. Gusts could once again reach up to 24 mph, blowing any lingering clouds from the winter sky.
As the workweek proceeds, Thursday should mostly stick to the sunny theme but with a mild high of around 59 degrees. The evening brings in some cloud cover, setting the stage for Friday's shift in weather patterns. The NWS anticipates showers to pick up, mainly after 2 p.m. and carrying a 70% chance of rain through the cloudy day. Friday night is likely to see more of these showers before they taper off before 11 p.m., continuing the 70% chance of rainfall.
The weekend is expected to bring reprieve after Friday's showers, with the NWS predicting a return to sunshine on Saturday and a high near 59 degrees. "Mostly clear" skies should prevail Saturday night, staying with lows around 35. Sunday continues the clear trend with highs touching 58 degrees and by Monday, we are forecast to bask in ample sunlight with a high near an inviting 67 degrees, according to the NWS forecast.
