Charlotte residents can expect a mix of sun and showers as they move through the week, according to a recent update from the National Weather Service (NWS). Temperatures are set to fluctuate, hitting as high as the mid-70s but also bringing some rain that could accumulate to significant amounts in certain areas.
For today, the NWS is forecasting a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. The mostly cloudy skies will eventually give way to a warm high near 70, despite the south southwest wind that could gust as high as 30 mph. "New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible," notes the weather update by NWS. Tonight, the likelihood of showers jumps to 90 percent, primarily before 10pm, with new rainfall amounting between a quarter and half an inch.
Following the rainy evening, the weekend opens up to patches of fog on Saturday morning, eventually clearing up to reveal a sunny day with a high near 63. As the day transitions into night, residents will see increasing clouds with a mild low around 42. The forecast suggests Sunday will remain partly sunny, leading to a high near 58, with slight winds altering direction throughout the day.
Come Monday, the skies will clear completely, giving way to a full day of sunshine with temperatures reaching a comfortable 70 degrees. The evening will maintain the clarity, descending to a cool 48 degrees. As residents proceed further into the week, they can expect more sunshine, particularly on Tuesday with a high scaling up to an impressive 72 degrees—although Tuesday night will bring partly cloudy conditions and a low hovering around 49.
The rest of the week appears to present a mix of partly sunny conditions and intermittent cloudiness. Importantly, temperatures remain mild with Wednesday's high settling near 65 and Thursday's forecast promising a warm high near 75 degrees, as per the NWS forecast.
