As the chilly winds usher in a freezing forecast, MUST Ministries and Cobb County have joined efforts again, prepping the Hope House to open its doors to those needing warmth from January 6 until Friday. The refuge, nestled at 1297 Bells Ferry Road in Marietta, GA, stands as a sanctuary where women, children and men can escape the clutches of the cold. Cobb County reports the arrival of potential occupants is requested by the hour of 8:00 p.m. daily to ensure a safe and timely sheltering process.
The partnership between MUST Ministries and Cobb County doesn't end with just opening the shelter doors, as transportation provisions are also in place for those needing assistance; the local nonprofit Reflections of Trinity, perched at 4037 Austell-Powder Springs Road in Powder Springs, will serve as a rendezvous point for pickups at 4:00 p.m. and again at the hour of 6:00 p.m., providing a vital connection between the community and the warming services offered.
In sync with the provision of transportation are bus vouchers, available to facilitate this journey to warmth, which can be claimed at select locations during specified times. The HOPE Family Resource Center on 6108 Mableton Parkway, Suite 116, and the Family Life Restoration Center at 6105 Mableton Parkway in Mableton become not just points of relief but emblems of the care that threads through the community fabric, opening their doors from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. whenever the warming shelter initiative is active, as announced by Cobb County.
