The City of Concord has announced that its Fire and Police departments will conduct public safety training exercises at Academy Recreation Center. These sessions will take place over multiple days in January to ensure first responders are prepared for various emergency situations.

According to the City of Concord announcement, the training will occur on six days: starting yesterday until tomorrow, Tuesday to Thursday next week, and 21-23, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During these times, the center will be closed to the public for safety reasons. For those affected by the closure, the city has provided two alternative locations: Hartsell Recreation Center and Logan Multi-Purpose Center.

"Residents in the area can expect a large fire and police presence at the recreation center during the training exercise," as noted on the City of Concord website. Officials reminded the public that these are training exercises, not emergencies, and only calls to 911 should be made for actual emergencies.
