The DeKalb County Police Department will hold its first discussion on the National Public Safety Partnership on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church. The event aims to strengthen efforts against violent crime using data-driven strategies to improve public safety, according to the DeKalb County.
DeKalb County is joining a three-year Public Safety Partnership program with federal, state, and local agencies to reduce crime, focusing on gun violence, crime analysis, and technology. After a 14% decrease in violent crime last year, the program aims to further lower crime rates. DeKalb is one of only 20 jurisdictions nationwide in the program. The initiative will use community-based policing to address local needs and challenges.
Media coverage for the upcoming meeting on local law enforcement strategies is available with limited access. Interested individuals can request coverage by emailing [email protected]. Further details about the initiative are available in the DeKalb County official news release.
