The Detroit rapper known as Sada Baby, whose real name is Casada Sorrell, was arrested in Sterling Heights on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop. Sterling Heights police officers initiated the stop after noticing the tinted windows on a black Dodge Ram on Mound Road near 18 Mile Road at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, FOX 2 Detroit reports.

During the stop, the officer checked the vehicle's license plate, which revealed that Sorrell had a warrant for an arrest charged with driving while unlicensed since June 2023, as per court records, and he was then taken into custody, in a scenario that unfolded rapidly after the plate check it became clear that there was more at play than a simple traffic violation. According to CBS Detroit, the officer on patrol suspected the presence of "possible illegal contraband" inside the vehicle, leading to further complications for Sorrell with charges pending the investigation's conclusion.

Once the "possible illegal contraband" was recovered, it was secured as evidence with the potential of additional charges being filed after a thorough investigation is conducted, ClickOnDetroit noted. The findings from the scene led to his vehicle being tied to something which might stretch the legal woes of the Detroit artist well beyond the initial warrant for unlicensed driving. Sada Baby was arrested but released. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24 for a driving without a license charge.
