Residents in Douglas County facing tough times have a beacon of support to look forward to at the end of January. A free event dubbed Strive to Thrive is set to offer a hot meal and access to over twenty local service organizations. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Calvary Castle Rock, located at 1100 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock, according to Douglas County.
Douglas County's Community of Care Network, which is hosting the event, has said that attendees will be able to gather information on resources like food, clothing, and medical assistance, and potentially receive these benefits on the spot. The fair doesn't require registration and aims to introduce community members to a variety of support services, including information on SNAP applications and local employment opportunities.
The Strive to Thrive event is part of an ongoing effort to help individuals in need connect with relevant resources and support networks. Attendees can immediately benefit from the services provided at the fair which include medical screenings, job counseling, and assistance with government aid programs.
