The Douglasville Police Department has initiated a campaign to readily accommodate students in need of school supplies not just during the back-to-school season, but throughout the entire year. In an effort to continuously support the educational needs of the community's youth, the department has made it easier for residents to donate school items. A donation bin is now a permanent fixture in the lobby of the department, located at 2083 Fairburn Road in Douglasville, as per the city's official announcement.
This ongoing drive is spearheaded by the department’s Community Outreach Division with Sgt. Shannon Dean at the helm. Those interested to possibly help or seeking more information can directly get in touch with Sgt. Dean by calling 678.293.1621 or by emailing [email protected]. This call to round up supplies is meant to ensure that the city's students are adequately equipped regardless of the time of year.
According to a recent announcement on the city's official website, the Douglasville Police Department is highly dedicated to this cause. Their inclusive approach is especially important in light of the fluctuating economic circumstances that can abruptly change a family's ability to provide for educational necessities. By enabling the community to donate at any given point, the department is ensuring that resources are available when families find themselves in need.
The door to contribute is now essentially open year-round, inviting residents to make a tangible difference in the lives of young learners.
