The City of Duncanville, Texas, is in a period of mourning following the death of Robert Byron "Bob" Lee, a longtime city employee and community leader. Lee, who died last Friday, served the city for nearly four decades, starting in the Water Department and eventually becoming Director of Utilities until his retirement in 1991, as reported by the City of Duncanville.
In a declaration detailing his countless contributions, his journey through the civic works culminated with state and federal commendations, and personal recognition from George W. Bush, then Governor. To honor his impact on the city, a local roadway bears his name, and "Bob Lee Day" was proclaimed in August 1991, cementing his legacy within the community.
Bob Lee’s devotion extended well beyond the office walls into various facets of Duncanville's life. He played significant roles as past president of the Duncanville Noon Lions Club, was actively involved with the Duncanville Chamber of Commerce, and lent his support to the Duncanville FFA. These are testaments to how his work and dedication resonated on a personal level with the citizens of Duncanville.
