
The U.S. Department of Justice has confirmed the arrest of a man from Durham on charges related to supporting ISIS. United States Attorney Michael F. Easley, Jr. will announce details of the charges in a press conference this afternoon. The Durham resident is accused of attempting to provide material support to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office release, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert DeWitt and other law enforcement officials will join Easley in the briefing. The event will take place at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Raleigh, with media asked to arrive by 2:00 p.m. for the 2:30 p.m. briefing.
The press conference is expected to provide further information on the investigation and the charges.
