A residential fire in the northern Las Vegas Valley tragically claimed the life of one of a local family's dogs when their converted garage caught fire. As reported by FOX5 Vegas, the incident occurred Tuesday evening near the North Las Vegas Airport.
Upon their arrival, the teams from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue alongside North Las Vegas firefighters discovered the fire had engulfed a room in the residence. Even though the firefighters managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading beyond the garage, one dog could not be rescued. "All residents inside the home have been accounted for," said Kenneth Kreutzer, as reported by FOX5 Vegas. He added that firefighters "rescued one dog while a second dog was also located but did not survive."
Further details about the fire, including the firefighters' swift response and efforts, were noted by News 3. According to their coverage, crews were alerted and responded to the fire, which broke out around 7:30 p.m near Decatur Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue. Officials conveyed that the cause of the fire is "currently under investigation" with no dollar loss determined at this point.
