As NOCOBiz Connect rings in its first year of fostering sustainability among Fort Collins businesses, the organization is rolling out the proverbial green carpet for the community with an Anniversary Celebration on Jan. 30. To highlight the collective strides made in sustainable business practices, the celebration is scheduled to take place at Anheuser-Busch's Biergarten from 4-7 p.m., according to the City of Fort Collins, the Monarca Group, and the Colorado Green Business Network.
With the partnership of these entities, NOCOBiz Connect has taken root in the local economy, helping over 200 businesses walk down the more environmentally conscious path since its inception. The program sticks out for its emphasis on inclusion, offering support, particularly to those businesses traditionally underrepresented or underserved, as noted by the City of Fort Collins.
During the evening, the guests will engage in networking opportunities, shining a spotlight on businesses that have made significant contributions to sustainability efforts. They will also partake in food, drinks, and entertainment as they mingle with local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and like-minded advocates of sustainability. In keeping with the organization's commitment to inclusivity, interpretation services will be provided, making sure the event is accessible to every segment of Fort Collins' diverse business community.
Anticipation is building for a "big announcement" about the program’s future, which will be unveiled at the event, hinting at an ongoing pledge to support the area's economic and environmental well-being. "NOCOBiz Connect is proud to celebrate a year of small and big steps towards fostering a culture of sustainability among local businesses," said Javier Echeverría Díaz, with the City of Fort Collins Sustainability Service Area, heralded the program's achievements, as per the City of Fort Collins.
