
In a recent press release, the Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of four individuals connected to a robbery that occurred in Northeast D.C. on Thursday. According to the report published by MPD, the incident took place around 4:04 p.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and Constitution Avenue.
Two of the suspects reportedly approached the victims, demanding property and issuing threats. After the victims complied, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later identified as stolen. The successful location and apprehension of the suspects was attributed to the assistance of MPD's helicopter, Falcon 1.
The prompt police response led to the detention of the suspects. Among the apprehended are a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old female from Northeast, DC, both charged with Robbery Fear and Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle. Added to the list is 18-year-old Raya Poston from Upper Marlboro, MD, and a 14-year-old female also from Northeast, DC, who face charges for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
These swift arrests highlight the coordinated efforts of law enforcement to address the incidences of theft and potentially violent street crimes in the capital region.
