The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) will continue to benefit from the insight and experience of Board member Deidre A. Lambert-Bounds, as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has confirmed her reappointment. Lambert-Bounds, a resident of Troy, has been a steadfast presence on the board, her tenure marked by a commitment to a fair and transparent gaming industry, and this reappointment secures her position until the end of 2028.

Lambert-Bounds is not new to the intricacies of board operations, having previously served a term that began on July 22, 2021, and ended on December 31, 2024, following Barbara Smith, according to details provided by State of Michigan. Beyond her role at the MGCB, Lambert-Bounds actively engages in business and philanthropy as president and co-owner of Ignite Social Media, LLC, and chief operating officer and co-owner of Carusele Media; she also contributes her expertise to the executive boards of the Sphinx Organization, International Women’s Forum, and the Michigan Partnership for Equity and Opportunity, while also being an alumnus of Wayne State University.

The duty of overseeing Michigan's gaming sector, which includes the three authorized Detroit casinos — MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown — as well as the regulation of fantasy contests, pari-mutuel horse racing, casino-style charitable gaming, and tribal gaming compacts, rests on the shoulders of the MGCB. Lambert-Bounds, representing Independents, forms part of a five-member team appointed by the Governor. Per the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act, these appointments are carefully balanced to prevent a majority from any single political party.

Meetings of the MGCB require at least three board members present to proceed and this governs the agency's ability to conduct regular business, the next of which is scheduled on February 4 at 9:30 a.m. at Cadillac Place in Detroit, the 2025 meeting schedule is available on their website.

Lambert-Bounds resumed her role on the MGCB Board on January 9, joining fellow Board members Joni M. Thrower Davis, Mark Evenson, Andrew T. Palms, and Board chair Linda Forte.
