A Grand Rapids man has been apprehended following an armed robbery that occurred near the Allendale Township earlier this month. The 21-year-old suspect, Najour Weaver, was taken into custody last Sunday and faces a charge of unarmed robbery, as reported by FOX 17. On January 18, several men allegedly intimidated a 19-year-old Grand Rapids man with a firearm and absconded with his sunglasses before fleeing the scene.
Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies stopped a chase when a Jeep SUV fled into another county. Weaver was charged and released on bond. A 21-year-old Muskegon man was arrested at the scene for concealed weapons charges after a fight broke out in a parking lot on 48th Avenue near West Campus Drive. Witnesses reported a gun, leading to the arrest of one individual, whose name has not been released, according to WOOD TV and FOX 17.
Detectives from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department and Grand Rapids Police are investigating a robbery. On Monday, they executed a search warrant at a Grand Rapids home "for evidence believed to be involved in this incident." The suspect vehicle was seen at the 48 West apartment complex before fleeing toward Standale.
