Residents of Jacksonville Beach, brace yourselves for a slight disruption in your daily commute as the city gears up for a milling and paving project set to revamp several local streets. The City of Jacksonville Beach-Government shared on their social media that the upgrades are looking to kick off tomorrow and are slated for completion by February 7.
While the city has done its best to solidify these dates, they've issued a caveat - the whole shebang is contingent on the whims of the weather. Should the skies choose to unleash their elements, the schedule might see some minor tweaks. The crews will be out there working from the crack of 8am to the wane of 6pm, and they've made it clear that any vehicles lingering on the roads post-8am during the operations are going to have to find a new place to squat. Need more dirt on this? You can hit up the Streets Division at 904-247-6195.
Let's talk specifics. The areas that will be under the microscope, as listed on the City of Jacksonville Beach-Government's Facebook page, include: Sections of Marsh Landing Parkway, Isabella Boulevard & parts of 34th Avenue S, stretches of 36th Avenue S which encompasses both Upper & Lower 36th Avenue S, and both Sanctuary Way North & Sanctuary Way South. So if your daily route intersects with these parts of town, well, it's high time to consider a detour.
