
Following a robust response to recent winter conditions, Kenner city officials have announced the reopening of municipal offices and the resumption of public services. According to a statement from the City of Kenner, starting yesterday, offices once again welcome the public from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Additionally, a Kenner City Council meeting is set to convene at Heritage Hall at 11am on the same day, maintaining its planned schedule despite the storm's disruption earlier in the week.
Mayor Michael Glaser took the opportunity to commend the efforts of the essential workers in the City of Kenner, "I would like to recognize and thank all of the essential City of Kenner employees who were outstanding in response to this winter storm", as casual garbage and recycling services make a comeback, Thursday and Friday routes will be attended to, urging residents to be mindful of their water use during the system's recovery period. Public Works and General Services crews sustain their commitment to repairing the city's infrastructure as the storm's aftermath subsides.
In light of the adverse weather, there were pauses in routine services, which are now being brought back up to speed. Kenner authorities have also instructed the community to adhere to conservative water usage, minimizing non-essential activities such as washing clothes or dishes to avoid straining the recovering water systems.
As the region inches back to normalcy, public safety departments including the Kenner Police and Fire Departments continue to emphasize the importance of safety measures and operational readiness, Chief Conley and the Kenner Police Department are still working diligently as well, these departments remain vigilant ensuring roadways and other public areas are secure for residents and their families.
