
Authorities in Lancaster are probing a fatal stabbing that occurred Friday afternoon, with a person of interest currently in custody, according to local law enforcement. CBS Los Angeles reports that the stabbing took place around 4:16 p.m. on the 1700 block of E. Avenue J, where deputies discovered the victim who later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
A follow-up investigation led to the detention of a person of interest possibly linked to the incident, during which an "edged weapon" was retrieved from the scene, deputies said in a statement, as per MY News LA.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department's Homicide Bureau has taken charge of the investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward. According to the Sheriff's Information Bureau, there are no outstanding suspects at this time as the investigation continues. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear what events led up to the stabbing.
