
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a driver implicated in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in one fatality on Sunday evening, the search is spurred by the circumstances that unfolded around 6:52 p.m. on North Eastern Avenue, just south of East Owens Avenue. In an event that adds to the city's growing list of road tragedies this year, authorities state that a woman was fatally struck in a crosswalk by what is believed to be a newer model Nissan Maxima which then evaded the scene, Fox5 Vegas detailed.
The victim, a pedestrian who was endeavoring to cross within the bounds of the marked pedestrian pathway, was met with the unyielding force of negligence; she was transported to the UMC Trauma Center, where, despite all efforts to save her, she was later pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained "according to a News 3 LV report.
Law enforcement officials are currently urging the community to aid in identifying the metallic blue Nissan Maxima, with the suspected damage located around the right front headlight, the hood, and the windshield. This vehicle, dating between the model years of 2018 and 2023 has become a central focus of the ongoing investigation KTNV stated. LVMPD emphasizes the gravity of the situation as the pedestrian's death has now been marked as the 9th traffic-related fatality within their jurisdiction for the year 2025, the department disclosed.
