The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) reported a productive night in its ongoing efforts to combat gun violence in the city. According to a press release published on their official website, LBPD officers confiscated four firearms and made multiple arrests over a series of traffic stops on January 5 and 6.
Details provided in the statement indicate that three separate traffic stops led to these outcomes, starting around 10:14 p.m. on January 5th at Santa Fe Avenue and Spring Street, resulting in the discovery of two firearms. Shortly thereafter, at 10:17 p.m. near Anaheim Street and Walnut Avenue, another vehicle was pulled over, and an additional firearm was seized. Both incidents involved arrests and the investigations are said to be ongoing, per the LBPD.
In the early hours of January 6, around 2:50 a.m. near Quincy Avenue and 7th Street, officers made yet another traffic stop. Living up to their nocturnal vigilance, they discovered one more firearm and arrested the suspect who was found in possession of the weapon, as reported by the LBPD. As with the previous incidents, this case remains under investigation by the authorities.
