At the threshold of noon yesterday, a male in his late 60s found himself the victim of what police are calling a domestic-related aggravated assault in Pittsburgh's Hill District. The incident occurred within the confines of an apartment at the 2100 block of Centre Avenue. This locale swiftly became the site of law enforcement and medical activity as officers and paramedics descended upon the scene.
Following the stabbing report, the arriving Pittsburgh Police officers found the man sustaining a superficial wound on his leg and a more serious injury to his finger, as reported by the City's Public Safety Blotter. Despite the alarming nature of his wounds, medics were able to transport him to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The victim told officers that a female friend was responsible for his injuries, adding complexity to the case. However, the woman had already fled the area, disappearing into the city before authorities could find her.
Police are now working to secure a warrant for her arrest, as she remains at large.
