
A man was shot early this morning in Benton Park West, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Gravois. According to the victim, a 43-year-old man, he was walking east on Gravois when he heard gunfire. The shots were reportedly fired from an unknown black car traveling in the opposite direction.
Despite being struck in the neck by the bullets, the man was able to make it to the 2900 block of California. After reaching this location, police were contacted to assist him, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department stated. EMS arrived shortly thereafter, transporting the victim to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The search for the shooter is ongoing as District 3 detectives work to unravel the circumstances surrounding this violent act. In these early hours of inquiry, details about the suspect or their motives remain elusive, clouding the streets with a specter of unease.
