The Executive Office of Veterans Services launched the "2025 Acts of Service" campaign on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The campaign focuses on supporting veterans and their families across Massachusetts through digital and in-person service opportunities, promoting unity and inclusion while honoring Dr. King’s legacy of equity and service, according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Secretary Jon Santiago said that "Dr. King’s vision for equity and service continues to inspire us all," as individuals and organizations across Massachusetts carry out acts of service, often without recognition. The campaign aims to foster unity with support from local agencies and nonprofits. A statewide day of service will be held in November during Veterans Week, and participants can submit their acts of service and share stories on the campaign’s website, as reported by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
“This campaign gives us a chance to show our gratitude to veterans while embodying the principles of equity and service championed by Dr. King,” said Deputy Secretary Andrea Gayle-Bennett. The "2025 Acts of Service" campaign encourages Massachusetts residents, organizations, and communities to recognize those who have made a positive impact on the veteran community. Stories can be submitted on the campaign’s website for possible recognition during the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, held during Veterans Week from November 10-14, 2025.
