Mayor Jon Nehring is set to deliver his annual State of the City address in Marysville on January 28. This event, which will be held at the Marysville Civic Center, on the second floor of Council Chambers, will showcase the city's major achievements of 2024, as well as give residents a glimpse into the initiatives and strategies for 2025 and future years. According to a recent announcement on the city’s website, the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. after doors open at 6 p.m., and will also be available via livestream on the city's Facebook page.
In his upcoming address, the mayor is expected to discuss the city's solid standing and the continuation of providing essential services to residents without the need to significantly raise taxes or enforce severe budget cuts. Mayor Nehring has said, "Marysville is in a solid position to continue serving our residents well with the city services they expect and deserve," as stated by the City of Marysville.
The State of the City presentation serves as a platform for residents to stay informed and engaged with the local government's plans and activities. Following the presentation, members of the public will have the chance to ask questions and gain more insight into the workings and decisions of their city's governance.
Those unable to attend the event should not worry, as the recorded presentation is slated to quickly become available in February on the city's official website and through local public access channels, Comcast channel 21 and Ziply channel 25.
