The Germantown Police Department has detained a Memphis man on multiple counts of theft after he was accused of pilfering packages off residents' porches. Identified as Jeremy Rooker, the 28-year-old faces seven counts of theft of property, according to information released by Action News 5.
Officials confirmed the arrest yesterday following cooperative efforts by several divisions within the Germantown Police alongside the Memphis Police Auto Theft Task Force. A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, reported as stolen on November 27 from Germantown, was also recuperated in the process. WREG reports that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues. However, specific details about these potential additional charges are not yet forthcoming.
In a social media post, the Germantown Police Department gave credit to collective law enforcement efforts for the arrest and recovery of stolen property. "This morning the GPD Special Enforcement Team, GPD Investigations, and GPD SWAT along with members of the MPD Auto Theft Task Force located and arrested 28 year old Jeremy Rooker of Memphis on outstanding Germantown warrants," detailed the department's post.
