Memphis has been grappling with the aftermath of a daring robbery spree that led to the arrest of two 17-year-old teens. The series of crimes, which targeted taco trucks, fruit stands, and other businesses, ended on Monday when authorities finally apprehended the suspects.

According to Action News 5, the teens are accused of robbing a total of 13 businesses over two weeks. Notably, they allegedly held up Taco Nganas on December 14th. The police report indicates that the assailants entered the food truck and forcibly demanded money from the workers.

Further investigations linked the teens to a string of robberies that occurred on the same day, with the Memphis Police Department responding to multiple calls on December 17th. As per a FOX13 Memphis report, affected locations included Taco Cancun, Taqueria Los Compadres, and Own Mart, among others. The brazen series of heists even involved a stolen black Dodge Charger, which was taken on December 19 from Club Lane and subsequently used in robberies at Elizabeth A Taco Stand and Tom’s Barbecue.

The crime spree swiftly turned more treacherous when shots were fired at an officer last Sunday after a chase ensued following two separate robberies at a fruit stand and the Oaxaquena Food Truck on Getwell Road. WREG states that when the owner of the Oaxaquena Food Truck fired a shot to scare away the suspect, the suspects took to hastily escape in their vehicle, eventually crashing and then fleeing on foot before their arrest.
