The 5th Annual State of Memphis Housing Preservation Summit will take place on February 21, hosted by the Division of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The summit will focus on housing preservation, development, and equity. It will be held at the Memphis Botanic Garden from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring discussions with national experts, local authorities, and community representatives, according to the City of Memphis release.
A key event at the summit is the Mayors’ Roundtable, where Memphis Mayor Paul A. Young will join regional leaders to discuss housing policy. This will provide attendees the chance to hear directly from policymakers about the future of housing in Memphis.
In addition to the summit, there will be a Neighborhoods Tour on February 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., visiting neighborhoods like Klondike/Smokey City, Orange Mound, Alcy Ball, and South City. The tour will highlight housing initiatives in these areas.
The summit will feature sessions on housing finance, the impact of investors on communities of color, housing preservation efforts, and the role of state policy in advocacy. These sessions aim to provide tools and knowledge for creating more equitable housing opportunities.
The registration fee for the summit is $30. For more details and to register, visit the Housing Summit 2025 website. For questions about the summit or HCD's efforts, contact Alejandro Paredes at [email protected] or call 901-636-7370.
