
Milwaukee is accepting nominations for the 28th Annual Mayor’s Design Awards. The awards recognize projects that excel in design, strengthen communities, and contribute to the city’s progress, accoding to the City of Milwaukee.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson celebrated Milwaukee’s design achievements, saying, “I am excited to celebrate 28 years of design excellence throughout the City of Milwaukee.” He emphasized, “These projects showcase the power of urban design to build stronger communities and move Milwaukee forward.” Encouraging community participation, he invited nominations for projects that enhance the city’s livability. The annual awards honor architectural landmarks, improved storefronts, and community-driven public art, recognizing designs that enrich Milwaukee’s urban landscape, as reported by the City of Milwaukee.
Department of City Development Commissioner Lafayette Crump praised the Mayor’s Design Awards, stating, “The Mayor’s Design Awards honors the continued contribution of the design, development, and construction community” in shaping Milwaukee’s growth, “from vibrant corridors to meaningful public spaces.” The city invites nominations for design awards from those connected to projects completed or nearly finished in Milwaukee by January 1.
