A dramatic incident unfolded in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood last night when a woman miraculously survived a high-speed crash into a building. The Seattle Police Department and the Seattle Fire Department were quickly on the scene after receiving reports of the accident, which occurred around 6 p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department.

Authorities reported that the 37-year-old driver was initially heading eastbound on University Street. She tried to make a quick U-turn at the University and Boren Avenue intersection. Instead of smoothly completing the maneuver, the woman accelerated back through the intersection before the traffic light turned red. This resulted in her vehicle striking a parked car, then careening onto the sidewalk, through a railing, and up a ramp leading to an apartment building. The crash terminated with her car slamming into the building at a high rate of speed, subsequently spinning around and falling back onto the sidewalk, where it hit a streetlight, causing further damage to another parked car.

Despite the extensive exterior damage the incident wrought on the building, the Seattle Police Department confirmed that no structural damage had occurred, reassuring residents of the building's safety. The driver sustained only minor injuries from the collision and showed no signs of impairment when evaluated by police at the scene.

The Seattle Fire Department transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation. She is expected to recover from her injuries fully.
