Two incidents of armed robbery in Perris, allegedly connected to the same suspect, have culminated in an arrest. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reports that on the evening of January 12, deputies responded to a robbery on the 1200 block of Mount Shasta Street in Perris where a victim was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect managed to quickly flee the scene before the deputies arrived.
Investigators from the Perris Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) took over the case and during their investigation, were able to not only identify but also to swiftly apprehend the suspect. 20-year-old Adrian Henning of Moreno Valley is accused of using a popular social media sales application to lure his victims under the pretense of purchasing items. Instead, Henning allegedly took the items without disbursement and, in at least one instance, brandished a firearm. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Henning was found and arrested in Moreno Valley with the help of the Gang Impact Team (GIT).
Further investigation tied Henning to another similar crime that occurred the same day in the Mead Valley area of Perris. In this incident, Henning again used the social media platform to set up a meeting under the guise of buying property but attempted to forcefully abscond with the goods sans payment. During his arrest, law enforcement recovered stolen property and a firearm from Henning's residence, as detailed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Henning is currently faced with a battery of serious charges including robbery and assault with a firearm, and is detained at the Cois Byrd Detention Center. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has communicated that Henning was also committing a felony while out on bail. They are urging anyone with further information regarding these or other related incidents to make contact with Deputy McMorris and have provided contact numbers for both the sheriff’s dispatch and the Perris Station.
