The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving cyclist Alexander Nikolenko, 30, who died from his injuries in early January. The accident occurred last November, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
On the afternoon of November 12, 2024, Metropolitan Police Department Fifth District officers responded to a crash at Queens Chapel Road and Channing Street, Northeast. They found Nikolenko, who had fallen from his bike after trying to avoid a collision. He was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury. Despite being taken to a hospital, he later died from his injuries.
Last Friday, Nikolenko was confirmed dead following a crash, with the Major Crash Investigations Unit releasing an official statement shortly thereafter.
