Boaters along the Upper Rogue River will encounter fresh signage starting February 1, as spelled out by new regulations adopted by the Oregon State Marine Board. These regulations, intended to guide and manage boat operations on the popular waterway, were finalized at a board meeting last Thursday. The marine board just shared details of the implementation on its website.
New temporary signs are due for installation by tomorrow at numerous points along the river – Fishers Ferry County Park, TouVelle State Park, Dodge Bridge County Park, Takelma County Park, Upper Rogue Regional County Park, Rogue Elk County Park, Casey County Park, and the McGregor Park Boat Ramp, with permanent signs that include detailed graphics for easy understanding of rule segments slated for a spring replacement.
The Oregon State Marine Board's announcement reported that the new rules include a commitment to heighten education and outreach during the first year after implementation. This effort should help river users adapt to and navigate the updated regulatory waters effectively.
