Early on New Year's Day, two individuals were hospitalized following a shooting inside a residential building in Arlington. According to WJLA, Arlington County police confirmed that the incident occurred near Marymount University's Ballston campus at the Placemakr Hotel around 2 a.m. as they worked to reconstruct the sequence of events.
According to the initial investigation, one of the victims was discovered with gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to the hospital. Another victim sported to the hospital by their own means. Both individuals suffered injuries described by the police as non-life threatening.
