According to WOODTV, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety received a 911 call about the incident at approximately 11:12 a.m. However, school personnel had already extinguished the fire by the time emergency services arrived on the scene.
As per WWMT, the district conveyed that no injuries were reported during the incident and that a fire safety officer allowed reentry into the building after confirming it was safe. Following the brief interruption, the school day resumed as usual. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage have not been disclosed.
