The New York Police Department is searching for a suspect linked to a series of fires in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The first fire occurred on Ralph Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. on December 6, according to abc7 New York. The same individual is believed to have returned to set more fires on December 18 and New Year's Day.
There have been no injuries reported from the fires, though the community remains concerned. The NYPD has released a description of the suspect: a man with a dark complexion, approximately 25-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, gray-hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants, and gray and white shoes. According to News12, the man is wanted for setting fires four times in the area.
Authorities are asking the public for information about the arsonist or the crimes. The NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline is available at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) for tips that could help in the suspect's capture and prevent further incidents.
