Early this morning, a tragic incident shook the community in east Charlotte when a vehicle crash resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The collision occurred just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Hickory Grove Road. First responders arrived at a harrowing scene where, according to WBTV, one individual was pronounced dead on site by Medic.

The impact of the crash was such that five other passengers required urgent medical attention. MEDIC reported that three of these individuals sustained serious injuries, as per WBTV. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department closed off the intersection to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led up to the incident.

As news of the crash became public, WCCB Charlotte provided additional details, noting that out of those injured, one person's injuries were life-threatening while two others appeared to be minor. After the initial emergency measures were taken, the intersection, which had been closed for the investigation, was reopened.

As reported by WCNC, Medic urged the drivers to steer clear of the area in the immediate hours following the crash, to prioritize the safety for all and to allow emergency services to efficiently manage the crisis. The names of the victims had not been released at the time of the reports, as the police and paramedics were still actively working on the case.
