Orange County Public Schools has set a lofty goal to foster literacy and reading joy throughout its district. Launching "Let's Read OCPS," a reading initiative towards a 20 million-minute reading marathon that will last until April 30th. According to WFTV, in pursuit of this, students, staff, parents, and community members are encouraged to dive into books and log their reading escapades on an interactive platform.

Each participant is assigned a marker of success and aims to clock at least 500 minutes of reading time. According to WESH, a book fair hosted by Westpointe Elementary School on Monday morning will catalyze the reading frenzy. The school invites students to pick new adventures in paper and ink as they contribute to the collective challenge.

Participants will record their progress through an app, with the cumulative effort visible for all to see, nurturing a sense of community through shared literary engagement.

Among those joining the ranks of readers are Mayor Jerry Demings and Mayor Buddy Dyer, bringing a dash of local celebrity to the venture. The spirit of collective endeavor comes to light as the entire Orange County community is beckoned to crusade through pages.
