The Oregon State Fire Marshal announced the deployment of three additional structural strike teams to assist with the wildfires in southern California. These teams, from Benton/Columbia, Douglas, and Polk counties, bring Oregon’s total to 15 strike teams, with 300 firefighters and 75 engines, currently supporting efforts in the Los Angeles area, as reported by the Oregon State Fire Marshal.

"Our hearts are with those impacted by these wildfires in southern California and we are doing everything we can to help," said Oregon State Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple, according to a statement from the Oregon office. Teams from Oregon are joining California's efforts, working long hours to help contain the fires and provide support.

Oregon strike teams were sent to California through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, at California's request. Californians can get updates from CAL Fire, the Governor’s Office, and Los Angeles County. The costs of Oregon's teams will be reimbursed by California during this governor-declared emergency, as stated by the Oregon State Fire Marshal.
