During an early morning call on Thursday, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies responded to a fire in Phelan, where they apprehended 39-year-old Samuel Oh, a convict found with suspected methamphetamine and firearms, according to official reports. The incident, shaping up as a notable case since the inception of Proposition 36, unfolded in the 9500 block of Malpaso Road after deputies were alerted to a shed engulfed in flames.
The deputies encountered an adult male who initially provided a false name. However, further investigation revealed his true identity as Samuel Oh, a resident of the property. Amidst the chaos of the blazing shed, Oh failed to admit ownership of the property. He was subsequently arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions and unlawful possession of firearms. Searches conducted under the warrant led to the discovery of the drugs, paraphernalia, and handguns, which culminated in Oh's booking at High Desert Detention Center, as per the SBSD Victor Valley Sheriff's Department.
