Dallas' weather outlook promises a mix of mostly sunny days and clear nights this week, with temperatures gently rising before a cooler weekend sets in. The National Weather Service forecasts today will be sunny with a moderate high of 55 degrees, with light winds shifting from the south-southeast around 5 mph.
Tonight, residents can expect a mostly clear sky with the temperature dropping to around 35 degrees. A calm east wind is anticipated to greet the city by evening. The consistency of the weather pattern is evident, Wednesday's conditions will mirror much of today's, basking in highs near 56 under mostly sunny skies. The wind, though again calm at first, will pick up from the north-northwest in the afternoon at around the same 5 mph pace.
As the week progresses, Thursday sees a continuation of this steadiness – the day should be sunny, reaching a high of about 60 degrees. The trend of calm winds persists, turning west-southwest near the day's end. The clarity in the sky continues into Thursday night, however, with temperatures expected to be a little warmer at night, laying claim to lows near 43 degrees, as a south wind picks up to 5 to 10 mph.
Friday, however, initiates a change. Dallas will wake up to partly sunny skies but with a slightly higher high near 65, anticipating south winds that are stronger at 10 to 15 mph with possible gusts as high as 25 mph. As the night falls, so does the temperature, leading to a partly cloudy night and a low of around 40 degrees. The south wind should then shift northwest post-midnight, potentially bursting with gusts up to 25 mph.
The weekend heralds a cooler presence, with Saturday's forecast promising sunny skies, but a daytime high settling near 53. The chill is felt more acutely by night as the low plummets to around 28 under partly cloudy conditions. Sunday will be partly sunny yet again, with highs tapering to a marked 39 degrees. And by nightfall, the cold tightens its hold further with lows skirting 20 degrees.
As the nation commemorates Martin Luther King Day, Dallas is expected to enjoy clear skies, despite a decreased high near 36, aligning with a day of reflection and respect.
