A 20-year-old Pueblo man, Phoenix Moncivaiz-Likes, has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including sexual assault on children and animal cruelty. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office disclosed these developments following a meticulous year-long investigation spearheaded by their Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives. Moncivaiz-Likes is currently being held at the Pueblo County Jail without bond.
The investigation began after a cybertip flagged child sexual abuse material linked to Moncivaiz-Likes. Pueblo County Sheriff's detectives acted on this tip, securing and executing a search warrant on his residence. It was there that they uncovered evidence of the charges laid against him. As obtained by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, the detectives found "child sexual abuse material along with conversations of him sexually assaulting two minors" and evidence of bestiality on his phone.
Amidst the digital evidence processed, Moncivaiz-Likes admitted to the sexual assaults on the children, as well as to performing sexual acts with several dogs. The ongoing investigation brought to light a third child who had been subject to assault, further expanding the severity of the case.
Charges against Moncivaiz-Likes include three counts of sexual exploitation of a child, three counts of sexual assault on a child, and animal cruelty. The Pueblo County Sheriff's office emphasizes that the case remains, under investigation and further details will be released as the case develops. "Detectives later learned of a third child sex assault victim," according to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, signaling that the investigation could reveal additional victims or charges.
